Tapestry Proposal: Pride

"A competitor will find a way to win. Competitors take bad breaks and use them to drive themselves just that much harder. Quitters take bad breaks and use them as reasons to give up. It's all a matter of pride."
~Nancy Lopez~

This  quote is looking at pride from a good angle, with a sense of courage. These are the people who actually have a good reason to be proud, for example, he/she does something which he/she is commemorated for. Also, these people are, so to speak, more inwardly proud of something, not shouting it out to the world, so that the planet can hate then because of their extremely aggravating arrogance.

A proud man is always looking down on things and people; and, of course, as long as you're looking down, you can't see something that's above you. ~C.S. Lewis~

This quote is looking at pride from the angle of not being so great. When one is too proud, they may be blinded from seeing certain things, for example, one could conceivably be so incredibly proud that not a single person could stand their extreme form of arrogance, and they would be perhaps one of the loneliest people on the face of the Earth.
