Novel(s)

The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins features many people who are very proud. Some of these people on the negative side of pride, meaning that they think they are the best fighters, and then volunteer as tribute, but there is also the other side of pride. For example, Katniss and Peeta are the official winners of the hunger games, and they are (or should be) proud of this. They now have food for their district and that is presumable reason to be proud of your accomplishments.

...The Hunger Games contains people who sit on both sides of the fence in terms of pride, but the main focus here is on the "positive" pride. For example, Katniss preservers throughout the Hunger Games, and, against all odds, comes out on top, winning that specific rendition of the Hunger Games. She most likely holds a certain amount of pride for accomplishing this, considering, as previously stated, they odds were most certainly not in her favor...
